FAQ

About Surf Sigma & Experience

What’s your niche and who do you work with?

We specialize in local service businesses and professional services, think plumbers, garage doors, lawyers (personal injury, construction), integrative health clinics, and similar SMBs that live or die by Google Maps rankings and local organic search. We focus on English speaking markets.

We also do consulting for larger chains and multi-location brands. In those cases, I’m usually brought in as an outside specialist to audit what’s happening, spot leverage points, set priorities, and troubleshoot tougher issues while your in-house team handles implementation. This is one of the areas where I can add value quickly because you get senior strategy without paying an agency to do all the production work.

How long have you been doing SEO, and what are your credentials?

15+ years in SEO, with Google Product Expert status for Google Business Profile (one of ~200 worldwide). I’ve been active in SEO forums (r/SEO, Google support) for years, helping business owners troubleshoot live.
No sales pitch. Just the work and the results.. You’re working directly with me, not a sales team or juniors.

Do you have a team, or is it just you?

Mostly me for strategy and implementation, but I do have a small team that handles repetitive tasks (citations, basic content formatting, data entry). This keeps your costs down while ensuring high‑quality execution.
Strategy, audits, website changes, and reporting? That’s 100% me. No delegation. You get my 15+ years of experience and Google Product Expert experience directly on your site. The team just frees me up to focus on what drives leads for your business.

 Pricing & Contracts

How much does local SEO cost?

It depends on what you need help with (Google Business Profile only vs. full website + local SEO), but here are the starting points:
Google Business Profile (GBP) support: US$349 for the first month + US$99/month ongoing (no contract).
GBP management + website : US$800/month minimum (no contract). We quote after reviewing your market and site.
Multi-location or multiple websites: we’ll quote a custom plan.

Pricing and details for the various plans can be found on the seo services page.

What’s the contract like?

Month‑to‑month. You own all content/links we create.
We define scope upfront. Changes? We adjust together.

We expand existing pages, fill gaps, and optimize for organic + AI visibility with schema. No generic blog spam, we publish pages with a purpose.

Local focus: Citation consistency, GBP signals, NAP alignment.
AI‑ready: Structured data so your business shows up in AI summaries.

 Results & Measurement

How do you measure success?

Leads first. Calls, forms, qualified inquiries. We track:
– Visibility (map pack, organic CTR)
– Traffic quality (GSC conversions)
– Lead volume (call tracking, form submits)

Google gives less data than it used to, so we focus on what you can measure: phone ringing, inbox filling. Monthly reports + video reviews.

Do you guarantee rankings or traffic?

Rankings depend on Google + competitors. We can’t guarantee results.
What we commit to: transparent process, lead‑focused strategy, and results you can see (more calls, better leads).

If the strategies we have implemented are not working, we pivot.

Tech, Tools, & Future‑Proofing

What tools do you use?

Core stack: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog for tech audits, Local Falcon for map pack tracking.
Custom scripts and WordPress plugins when necessary. Nothing hidden, we’ll tell you exactly what we’re doing and why.

How do you handle AI search and Google updates?

I stay ahead by reading SEO news daily from many sources (newsletters, Reddit forums, Google forums, newsletters, Linkedin posts, Facebook groups, agency blogs, etc.).
When updates drop or AI shifts happen, we test and adapt immediately. No waiting for “approval” from management.
Your plan isn’t templated. Some tasks (technical fixes, GBP optimization) stay consistent because they work. But your strategy evolves with your market and Google’s changes. Small teams like ours pivot faster than big agencies stuck with rigid SOPs.

Other Questions

What if I’m already working with an SEO agency I like?

No problem. We can audit what they’ve done and provide suggestions. We can figure out how to work together without stepping on toes, for example, we can be back up support for Google Maps issues or Google algorithm updates.
