Why Is Indexing Important?
When Google indexes your website, it becomes visible in search results, which is crucial for driving traffic. If your site isn’t indexed, it won’t appear on Google’s search pages. This can happen for several reasons, like low content quality, lack of backlinks, or a recent launch. May people build backlinks to their sites but then don’t even know of the page gets indexed, so checking the status can be useful to know if Google crawled the page or not.
What to Do If Your Site Isn’t Indexed
Don’t worry if your URL isn’t indexed yet. Indexing can take time, especially for new websites or urls.
If the URL is on a site you control, you can submit your URL directly to Google using their Webmaster Tools. You can also check the indexation status of your own pages using Search Console and don’t need to use this tool. This tool is primarily designed to check pages for third party backlinks you want to check the status of.
